Indigo Blue
The Art of the Tease Women in the Golden Age of Burlesque refined teasing to an art – the art of strip-tease! This 1 1/2 hour workshop with Miss Indigo Blue, the Reigning Queen of Burlesque, includes historical examples of Burlesque legends and exercises to practice the skills they developed. In this introductory class, students are empowered to explore and discover their own inner tease-artiste in a safe and friendly environment. Gloves, boas, and hand-fans are provided, no dancing or dance skill required. Learn the who and what of the how and why!
Tassel Twirling Miss Indigo Blue presents this saucy and swinging class! Watch em wiggle! See em jiggle! Can you go clockwise? In opposite directions? Learn the ancient alluring skill of tassel twirling, and the secrets of the TwirlyGirl pastie-making method! A Revolutionary class for all budding Helicopter Girls. Open to all bodies with chests. You won’t be learning how to make pasties, but you can bring your own or purchase TwirlyGirl pasties!
Tyler Fyre
Showmanship is Everything! The best advice Tyler got when starting out in show business was from Bobby Reynolds. He said, “Kid, first be a showman. Then learn some tricks.” This idea has shaped everything he’s done since – and Tyler loves to pass it on to the next generation of performers. Study on what makes your show successful, with this established stage personality known from the fast paced and funny, death-defying daredevil stunt spectacular Lucky Daredevil Thrillshow. All levels, open to everyone from singers to swordfighters, sword-swallowers to stage kittens.
Fire Safety & Performance This workshop introduces you to an old hand at the arts of danger, Tyler Fyre. He’ll acquaint you with the fundamentals of safety in working with fire, an overview of props, insurance, principles on building things that burn, and creating a set or show that delights audiences with all the gut-wrenching charm of Coney Island. All levels welcome.

Bellydance for the Cabaret Capture the audience with your eyes, then burn them up with your sultry swing and shimmy. Bellydance has a long-established place in the history of Burlesque, and adds an element of the exotic, elite, and outrageous to every variety show. Burlesque performance is ALWAYS made better by movement training, and our instructor will teach you some smoldering combos to help burn up the stage.
All levels. A grasp of basic bellydance will help you get the most from this session!

Costuming for the Stage: Where to start?! Costuming for the stage means life writ LARGE, and that’s more than gluing sequins to a bra or getting a tailcoat. Costumes need to drive your stage persona FORWARD before you’ve even batted an eye. In this class discover simple tricks and principles certain to propel your act onto bigger stages, learn what you can do yourself in the spirit of can-do rebellion, and what items really are worth spending your money on!

The Art of Spinning Poi – From Basics to FIRE
Come and learn the mind-bending art of poi spinning! This joyful, aboriginal-based art form will have you spinning balls-on-string around your body in patterns and shapes you never thought possible. Open your mind to a brand new way of thinking as you increase spatial and rhythmic awareness, flexibility and hand-eye coordination. AND, basic poi skills open the gateway to veil poi, flags, and the fire arts, too!
All levels. Practice poi will be available for sale and use during class.
Mab
Intro to Ukulele, New Vaudeville’s Best Friend Do you find that the 6 strings of the guitar too many? 4 strings offer a path to truth! Great for parties! Perfect to play along at jams! Easy to pick up, hard to put down! Travel Sized! The Incredible, Portable, Magical, Musical, Ukulele is now within your reach! Learn the basics of making sweet uke love and leave this workshop well on your way to becoming a ROCK GOD! FACT! Ukuleles increase your sex appeal!
Mab, Just Mab will show you how to get started on your road to uke love! This is a class for beginners, and people who have held a uke once or twice. There are a VERY LIMITED number of spare ukes, so it is strongly advised that you get your own (you won’t regret it!). If you buy a new uke, be sure to tune it up before hand, strings need time to settle in. Mab is available for email questions before the workshop. Not sure what kind of uke to get? There are plenty of affordable ones for under $40. But watch out! If you pay less than $20, chances are you have a uke that won’t hold a tune!
Mab recommends the Kala Dolphin Bridge Soprano Ukulele for about $35 online for beginners
